Site infrastructure design
We design the ground a development sits on, including data centre sites and EV charging hubs: car parks, service yards, levels and platforms, and the corridors for utilities. The drainage can be designed alongside it, with the models federated to check they work together.
Data centres
The external works for data centre sites: the site access, internal routes, service yards, car parks and associated facilities. They are designed as one scheme, with the levels, drainage, and utility and ducting corridors brought together in a federated model. See Data centre civil engineering design.
EV charging hubs
Site layouts for EV charging hubs: the access, charging bay layout and swept paths for the vehicles that will use them, levels and surfacing, drainage, and the duct routes for the chargers and grid connection. The charger and electrical design is by the charge point provider's specialist, and we coordinate with them.
Car parks
Car park layouts with bay and aisle dimensions to the local parking standards, and swept paths for cars, service vehicles and coaches. Levels and falls are set so the surface drains to the chosen outfall.
Service yards and loading
Service yards, loading bays and turning areas sized by swept path for the largest vehicle that will use them, with pavement build-ups designed for heavy axle loads.
Earthworks, levels and platforms
Cut and fill design, formation and foundation levels, and earthworks volumes that include the pavement build-up and substrata. Levels are set to balance cut and fill where the site allows, which keeps the export of materials away from site to a minimum.
Utility and ducting coordination
We model the corridors for utilities and M&E ducting alongside the highway and drainage, so clashes are found in the federated model rather than on site. The M&E design itself is by the M&E specialist.
