Drainage design and SuDS
We design drainage alongside the highway and the site layout, so it doesn't rewrite the layout once it's fixed. We design drainage on its own or as part of our highway and site designs, from a single car park to the network for a whole development. We design for sites across Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Powys and Wrexham, to each highway authority's own guide.
Drainage strategies
Surface and foul water strategies for planning applications. We set out discharge points, the runoff rate agreed with the lead local flood authority, and the attenuation needed, with climate change allowances applied. The strategy is tested against the layout early, so storage has room on the plan before it's fixed.
Flood risk assessments
Flood risk assessments to support planning applications, prepared to the National Planning Policy Framework and the lead local flood authority's requirements. We prepare them alongside the drainage strategy, so the two agree.
Site-wide drainage and SuDS
Detailed design of the surface and foul water networks for the whole site, with SuDS chosen to suit the ground and the layout: swales, permeable paving, basins, tanks and flow control. Designed to the CIRIA SuDS Manual (C753) and the local authority's SuDS guidance, and modelled in InfoDrainage.
Adoptable sewers (Section 104)
Sewers designed for adoption by the water company under Section 104, to the Design and Construction Guidance. We prepare the drawings and calculations for the technical submission and respond to the water company's comments.
Highway drainage
Gullies, kerb drainage, carrier drains and filter drains designed to DMRB CG 501 and CD 526, or the local highway authority's standards. It can be designed with any of our junction, road and site infrastructure designs, or on its own.
