Road and street design

We design the roads a development needs, from internal spine roads to new link roads and improvements to the existing network. We can design the drainage with the road, or the road on its own. We design for sites across Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, the West Midlands, Staffordshire, Cheshire, Powys and Wrexham, to each highway authority's own guide.

Development internal roads

Residential and commercial streets designed to Manual for Streets and the local highway authority's design guide, ready for adoption under Section 38. That includes alignments, junction spacing, footways, parking and refuse vehicle tracking.

Urban and rural link roads

New link roads designed to DMRB CD 109, from a single carriageway distributor road to dual carriageway.

Road improvement schemes

Widening, realignment and resurfacing of existing roads to serve new development, usually under a Section 278 agreement. We design from the topographic survey and the highway boundary, and flag any land or services conflicts early.

Cycle and pedestrian schemes

Urban cycle routes, shared paths, crossings and footway improvements designed to LTN 1/20 and the relevant DMRB standards. These are often part of a wider development or road scheme.

Drainage

We can design the road's drainage too: gullies, carrier drains, filter drains or SuDS, and the outfall. See Drainage design and SuDS.

Tell us about your road

Send us the site layout or the length of road you need designed. You'll hear back within one working day from the engineer who would design it.
